Interview with artist London Kaye

When a beautiful crochet sculpture or "yarn bomb" catches your eye around NYC or Los Angeles, or anywhere really -there’s a good chance it may have been created by artist London Kaye.  We met with London on a few occasions in Los Angeles and had some fun photo shoots with her next to her work and sometimes in action creating it -all shot with a 35 mm analogue film camera.

London Kaye // Street Artist // Los Angeles, CA
Q: What do you love about the city you live in?
London Kaye: I love living in the Arts District in Downtown, LA. There are always cool art exhibits to check out and new restaurants opening. It reminds me a lot of Brooklyn, which makes it a perfect canvas for me to hang up street art.
Q: How would you describe your personal style?
A: My personal style is eclectic and street chic. I love mixing bold colors with soft feminine accents. A flower crown always matches.
Q: Who are some of your favorite artists?
A: My favorite classic artists are Picasso, Van Gough, and Da Vinci…
My modern artist love goes to OLEK, Unskilled Worker, and Katie Rodgers
Q: What are some of your next projects?
A: The project I am most excited about is the crochet book I have coming out in September 2019 and I could not be more excited. I have been working on it for over a year and it is filled with everyday projects and inspiration photos to encourage you to give crochet a go!
Q: Who are some of your favorite style icons in leather jackets?
A: I love Cara Delevingne and Kristen Stewart in a leather jacket.
